North Side Big Bear (05/23/26)
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT.
Men, bring your families and come and join us on Saturday May 23rd on this 12 mile trail exploring the north side of Big Bear. We will head east on Holcomb Valley to South East Pinnacles where we can get out and hike as there are lots of interesting boulders and rock formations. From there we will head back west on Holcomb Valley and take Van Dusen Canyon (3N09) South back towards Big Bear. This trail is only for street-legal vehicles. There are some narrow sections, but the road is typically well-graded.
Please note: each participant needs to register, whether you are driving or riding. Upon signing up we will follow up with an additional email detailing the trail route, gear, radios, etc...

Easy to moderate
Uneven rutted dirt trail with loose rocks, sand, erosion, and washes.
Possible shallow water crossings, small ledges and short steep grades.
Schedule
8:30am - Meet at the Air Down spot/Air Down
8:45am - Trail/Safety Briefing
9:00am - Start trail
At the end of the trail, we will heading into Big Bear for lunch for whoever wants to join.
Directions to trail head
Take highway 330 to Big Bear. Turn East on 18 to Big Bear. Just as you are about to get to Big Bear Lake, take 38 North toward Fawnskin. Past Fawnskin, Polique Canyon(2N09) will take off to the north. Take 2N09 and a few hundred yards down is the air down spot.
Please Note: This trail is in the San Bernardino National Forest.
You will need an annual or a day Adventure Pass.
